How about all the ripoff profits of the big multinational agribusiness cartels like AGM and Cargill that control 100% of the biofuel production, what makes them any different (better) that the petrochemical corporations?

They are all happy to rip your family off for a box of corn flakes now!:(

The only answer I can come up with is at least with the biofuel, it's our people selling a product to the greedy multinational cartels to price gouge us with rather than some foreign country profiting along with the cartels. :)

I just think we are sitting on great marketing power in our agricultural industry and not capitalizing on that.

You mean Exxon, Mobil, Chevron, Phillips, Sunoco, Arco, Ashland, Conoco, Hess, Esso, Marathon, Valero, Texaco, etc. etc. are all foreign corporations owned by foreign states that are selling foreign oil to us?

BTW, most of the petroleum energy used in North America is produced right here in North America in either the good ole USA or Canada

Now how about all the greedy multinational automobile corporations like GM, Ford, and Chrysler that are profiting off their zero change in fuel economy since the last Federal fuel economy standards were set in 1975, over 30 years ago????? They have been profiting to the max off the sale of hundreds of millions of fat gasoline guzzling road hogs to their unsuspecting customers.

If they had only doubled their average fuel economy standards, our consumption of any foreign imported energy would be exactly 1/2 of what it is today. In fact, there would be NO NEED to import any foreign energy, since we would produce enough ourselves.

No,,,,, actually what I meant was American companies that are over here in the middle East pumping foreign crude oil as fast as they can and shipping it back to your side of the world and refining it to price gouge us with. I've been in and out of the Middle East for 15 years. Most of the companies you listed above I have saw over here.

I would just like to see our agriculture industry have an opportunity to participate in this market.

You or I won't drive a vehicle that gets 60 mpg because it will be the size of a matchbox and have a top speed of 50 mph and won't pull a headwind let alone a load.

You or I won't drive a vehicle that has to be plugged in and recharged either.

You or I won't drive a vehicle that is solar powered either.

That's why they aren't built, the average consumer in America won't buy them. And we would squeal like a pig if they were forced on us. We want an internal combustion engine that makes a lot of noise and develops a lot of power and makes us feel good. You and I both want that. I know you do by your signature!!!! I know I do because none of the nine licensed vehicles I own fit the categories I talked about above!! :)

We've had two VW Turbodiesels for the last ten years that never get below 45 mpg and will do 135 miles per hour as referenced on GPS, and all three of our motorcyles each get >60 mpg and they'll cruise at 100mph day in and day out.

If we were really smart we would buy every drop of imported oil we can, now while the price is still low and save our domestic oil for the future.

But they won't get 60 mpg every day and you only use the motorcycles for entertainment, not to conduct daily life business. So although you are way ahead of most Americans, you still are contributing to our foreign oil market, just as I do. I'd rather be giving my money to our farmers, regardless of whether it saved me any money or not.

That is the exact philosophy of our Oil Companies. That's why they are overseas helping them market their oil first. That's why they fight alternative fuels all they can. What good does it do to hoard something if it has no value. How many capped oil wells are there in Texas alone???

Not really, I've commuted everday year round for the last forty years on my bikes.

I'd rather be giving money to the multinational agribusiness cartels for food, not fuel......
