Kubota SMV emblem location - trivia!

Noticed that the Slow Moving Vehicle Emblem on the back of my Kubota isn't centered - assume ther must be some reason for this. 2" to ROPS on one side and 7" on other side. Any ideas why?

If a car is coming up behind you, the driver of that car is sitting in the left front seat, so your SMV emblem is offset to the left to put it right in front of that driver so he'll be more apt to see it. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif How's that for a wild guess? /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Another thought was to get it farther away from your remote connections, but that, too, would just be a wild guess. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

HAVE no clue why it would be off center, but it really is not that far off, on my B2400 it is right in the center of the seat. more important when i am on the road i use the flashing lights.

Not sure on yours but offset to the left on others provides better visibility to the 3ph area from the operators area since most look over their right shoulder.

I guess I am becoming cynical. Or, maybe I am becoming a "grumpy old man"!

Then again it may be tractor withdrawal. It is too hot to be outside on my Kubota. I passed the Kubota dealer about an hour ago and once again "lusted in my heart" for an airconditioned cab.

mine came mounted on the BH bucket curl cylinder. There is no other bracket anywhere on the tractor. I guess this means I can't road the machine unless I have the BH on? How's that for cynical? Kidding.
Truth is I took the darn SMV off 'cause I got tired of picking it off the ground.

This follows what Mr.Bird said...offset to the left so drivers can more easily see it...especially if you have an implement on the 3PH while tooling down the road. Granted, that implement should have it's own SMV sign..but most don't unless one is a farmer who frequently operates his machine on roads.
