I have a kubota mower with a kubota snow blower attachment-model no TG2742 Serial NO 70101202
Used today- worked great then almost done , stopped shooting out snow, cleared all snow out- both front augers turn fine, the chute auger pin is gone but stuck-it will not turn- I looked for any rocks or partially stuck shear pin. still wont turn. Took off the chain guard behind the unit, it runs fine also.
Any suggestions

Bring the entire unit into a warm environment, if such is available. It could be ice/wet & frozen snow that has blocked/locked up the fan.

Agree with Oosik - may be that the fan is frozen if your temps were cold enough.

The fan on my 50 hp skidsteer will freeze up in single digit temps sometimes when I stop it for some reason. I carry a hammer under the seat and just whack/tap the fan blades a few times to break the ice bond

It is in my garage now, but it was not that cold out today-28-30 F. I'll let you know
Thanks

I used a 3-point snow blower on my mile long gravel driveway for 25+ years. My neck & shoulders would get so darn stiff & sore. Then I bought a new, much heavier tractor in 2009 along with a heavy duty rear blade. NO MORE rear blowers for me.

Anyhow - I found that if the temps were around freezing - I had to leave the blower running any time I stopped the tractor. If I shut the blower down there was a good chance the fan would freeze up and one of the shear pins would blow. It did not take an awful lot of snow built up in the fan/chute area either. Water/wet snow would run down the chute or accumulate in the fan housing - freeze - one of the shear bolts would pop.

I always carried a heavy rubber mallet in the bucket. Like seville - whack the fan with the mallet and break the fan loose. There were still times when I did have to shut the blower completely down to clear ice that built up behind the augers.

well, went and looked after all snow was gone- one big rock jammed under the bottom blade-got it out-thanks for the info.

I don't think your augers should turn freely if your fan is stuck. Kind of sounds like a gearbox issue.

Sorry just seen you posted the issue!

To the OP - don't feel bad. I would always do a FOD walk down the driveway - just before the first snow. I'd consistently miss a rock, limb, etc and blow a shear bolt or two the first clearing of the driveway. After that - a shear bolt or two the entire remainder of the winter.

Yes, awhite is correct. If the fan turns and the augers do not or vice/versa - there is a blown shear bolt somewhere.

OEM shear bolts can be expensive. I ended up getting Grade 2 machine bolts from the local hardware store. They DO blow a tad bit easier but are a world less expensive. Just get the correct length & diameter and go like smoke & oakum.

First time I broke a shear pin was when I stuck the neighbor lady's garden gnome in my auger. :muttering:
