I didn't buy one because it doesn't really match the tractor.

I'd really, really make fun of you for that, if not for the fact that it'd make me a total hypocrite. But, man, I'd never say it "out loud." :D

I have one on my international dump truck just because it takes 20 revolutions (or at least is seams like) to go from stop to stop. I have thought about getting one for the tractor because the plastic steering wheel can be slippery with gloves on in the winter. I was looking at generic ones at Lowes the other day, they feel pretty hefty but I didn't buy one because it doesn't really match the tractor (I think they were green).

Tractor Supply: Several colors but also plain ol' black

The only pic I seem to have of mine:

I "might" pull a green implement, but to blatantly put something green right in front of my face: Nah! :p

(not a Deere hater at all, but come on, orange and green?? .....)

"suicide knob" reminds of another name we had for them- "necker's knob". (For canoodling with your main squeeze as you tooled down main street in your Little Deuce Coupe)

Are we now going to talk about pimping our rides? What next- a beer tap on the shift lever? A lady's garter on the mirror? Oh, I forgot: CUTs don't have mirrors. Yet. . .

I love my spinners so much, I put two on.:D I really have two on because they change position so much on the HST steering that one of them will be in a comfortable position at any given time.

Holy cow! I never thought of that! You're right: As I make the 4-mile drive between my tractor's home & my vacant property I can slowly watch the steering wheel go around & around even though I'm going straight!

I use a suicide knob on my BX when in tight quarters, or frequent turning for plowing and FEL work. According to legend, the suicide knob got it name in the 50's, apparently people inadvertently got their sleave caught on it at highway speeds. Hence the suicide knob form what I understand.

Lowes Website shows it comes in red and gray but my local store only have it in green and I don't think it was a JD green.
