Kubota subcompacts are no longer the obvious king of the subcompact hill.

So what difference does it really make? I couldn't care less. No, I didn't read through pages of dumb arguments.

It's great that there is more competition in the field and more choices among consumers. Something (brand) to suit almost everyone who is in the market for a SCUT.

I have owned a Kubota for 20 years and presently have a new Kubota on order, but it's just nonsense to argue about what manufacture is "king of the hill".

What are you getting?

Trading in my 20 year old L4200.

I just hope the new L5060 will be as flawless as my L4200 has been. Other than regular maintenance items (oils, filters, coolant, and one battery), the only thing that had to be replaced was a $38 dollar glow plug controller which I replaced myself just two years ago.

The way I see it, Kubota is still king and will be for some time. Yes the many other brands are now really good, really good copies! Let's see what the resale value is of the other 10 or 18 years down the road is. I dare say that the majority of BX owners buy another BX or upgrade to a large Kubota based on their prior experiences with the brand. If I were buying another SCUT there is a 99% chance it would be another Kubota due to my great experience with mine. Proven quality, dealer support and resale loom large for me and in my area no one else comes close on all three. I am not and will never be a price shopper for anything.

Kubota owners that I know would buy another if they were ever be in the market again. One owner comes to mind has had his Kubota with a cab and heat and air for 20 years after having a 50 MF for many many years. The only problem for Kubota to keep his business is he is now 75. Where he lives he needs the tractor so it is not parked months at a time.

The Lincoln Towncar when away in 2011 because its buyers when away for the most part. The other issue I found having owned a 1993 and 2000 was the cost to keep the car on the road in part due to all of the features that made it so desirable.

Most of us will never "wear out" what we now own hours wise and our equipment may be in our estate sale 10 or 18 years down the road.

Going forward new tractors from any brand with electronics and comfort features becoming more Towncar like I think will be a factor. With the phasing out of we baby boomers is dumping a lot of good used equipment on the market that is still low maintenance compared to the new stuff.

The changes are not unique to Kubota. In fact most of the newer tractors today are not even designed or built in the USA so I see brand loyalty becoming a thing of the past as well.

Most tractors on the market today future depends of quality of dealership service and parts availability. While the name Ford in tractors is forever gone most of the parts for a 60 year old Ford tractor can still be ordered if you want to pay the price but there is the aftermarket parts that I am finding kind of so so our our 3000 and 3600 Fords.

The tractor dealers going forward may depend more on selling of high tech services than the selling of hardware like IBM did at the end of the last century.

Kubota's future is in the hands of the corporate offices and will depend on how well they predict the future and meet those future demands I expect and may be the reasons of rumors of more input from that level. I even see this happening in the area's McDonald's.
