I need to change the hydrostatic fluid in my transmission but cannot find a drain plug or a fill hole. I have allready changed the gear box fluid, but am having trouble finding the drain and fill holes for the transmission. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks for your help. James

On my G1800, a near-relative previous model I believe, the drain plug is on the bottom of the differential, and the fill plug is a large hole at the rear of the diff., but higher up. Both were pretty obvious I thought, but I had the owner's manual to help me.

Hey jwm, unfortunately you have one of those magic machines that does not have provisions for changing your hydro fluid. Kubota is not the only one, so don't be too surprised. In order to check the fluid you have to remove the tube that sticks up out of the trans and stick a make shift dipstick in the hole. There is a measurement I believe, but don't remember exactly what it was. It's in the service manual. I think it was like 3/4" from the top. As far as draining the old fluid, your best bet is to buy one of those sucker guns and remove the old fluid as much as possible, then replace through the tube. Just remember, I don't build e'm, I just work on e'm..................Kubmech
