Kubota- the Harley of Tractors?

Hi everyone, been up all night reading everythig I can about kubota's, found more information on this site than anywhere else. Just getting ready to pick up my new BX2200 this afternoon, cant wait! I swear, I'm more excited about getting the kubota than I was when I picked up my harley several years ago! I hope the kubota is as reliable as the harley has been. Not one problem in 8 years. From what I've been reading, I dont think I'l be disapointed. I Live in eastern Ohio, with 12 acres. 3 grass and about 5 pasture and 4 strip cuts. Usually took about 3+ hours to mow with my 38" cut, cub, hoping to cut that down some with a 60" mmm. Maybe the wife will take a more active role in mowing!

It's more reliable than a Harley. Doesn't leave a puddle of oil when you park it. /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Anyone who can get 8 years out of a Harley with no problems (never even heard of such a thing) ought to get 50 years out of a Kubota easily./w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

I own both also and have had no problems. The Harley(I have an '84 Iron Head) has maintenance points that I have to pay attention to. Otherwise it has responded like the iron horse it is.
The Kubota is brand new, but seems very solid.
Probably not a bad comparison.
But my Harley stays in my rec room in the winter. Better stereo then in the garage...

Harley Road King here & BX2200. The Bota is almost as much fun.Both are great. No drag pipes on either.

What an insult!

Never could figure out why Harleys make soooo much noise just trying to keep up with traffic.

Could be the lack of mufflers that so many of their owners seem to prefer...."Loud Pipes Save Lives"!

As far as the insult goes, I think Bota is gonna have to go some to achieve the success story and cult following that Harley has managed since they were saved from AMF.

I had a new '91 Harley dresser Ultra Classic. My wife and I put 50,000 miles on it in 4 years and it never dripped a drop of oil. After I had my first son we sold it for what we payed for it. I can't think of many other things you can do that with./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Moc, congrats on the new tractor, when I first got my BX I noticed I was out of breath nearly the whole day and several days after, my wife asked me why I was breathing so hard, it was the excitement. I have not been so excited about anything since my grandfather gave me a 3 horse Johnson and built me a little boat (not going there again). You (and wife) are going to have a bunch of fun, might as well sell the bike now and buy implements. PS--dogs like Kubotas too. J

Ruffled Grouse do too.

Last week while I was out at what we call the farm everytime the tractor was started a grouse came running out of the woods and kept it company. It got to be a nuissance as it was constantly near the tires or under the bucket. Several times when I was stopped hand loading rocks into the bucket it attacked me. Started me thinking of a green Alder branch, hot applewood coals and a bird aroasting on a spit.
