I think many of you already know that it is possible to insure your Kubota tractor and implements through Kubota's Ktac Insurance Agency. (Website is KTAC Insurance Agency).

However, I don't think a lot of you know (I sure didn't) that you can purchase the insurance without financing through the dealer. Even many of the dealers don't realize this. You can call the KTAC insurance agency for a quote at 800-348-5802 (Georgia).

Also as long as you buy the equipment from a Kubota dealer, KTAC will insure implements of other brands. Insurance can continue as long as you want. It doesn't have to be dependent on length of financing.

I am sharing this info because I spent a lot of time tyring to find insurance for a tractor that was located on property away from our home. The price is quite reasonable and includes a few nice extras not included by most insurance plans. E.g. transportation to and from dealer for repairs; damage during transport; protected no matter where tractor sits.

Process is simple - I just called the 800 number and gave them information and paid by credit card.

I hope this helps others out who are trying to find insurance for tractors that are not covered by their homeowners' insurance.

I'll have to check into this. When I bought my BX24 I went with the Kubota insurance because it was by far the best deal I could find. I was told then though that I could not continue the insurance after the loan was repaid.
I hope they have changed or I was simply told wrong at the time..I paid the insurance in advance for the full 3 or 4 years, can't recall how long the loan was for, didn't care because it was 0%. In fact it was rolled into the cost of the tractor:)

Yes, I went over to the Kubota Ktac insurance at the beginning of the year. I had State Farm, and after emailing Ktac, (which I discovered on the Kubota website), the particulars on my tractor for a quote, I went with them. It is almost half of what I was paying with State Farm and with a lower deductable. I recommend them.

That's good to know. All my car/house/boat insurance is with State Farm. They were ridiculous for the tractor, IIRC it was over twice what the Kubota insurance was:(

I was like you Skyco...State Farm for the house, boats, cars and tractor. I went to the State Farm agent to see if he could match the Kubota quote and he could/would not. It pays to shop around and compare, (if you have the time).

KTAC has been very easy and great to work with...called them up with the issue, they only asked when it happened, what I was doing with the tractor and the dealer I was going to take the tractor to. It doesn't even have to be a certified Kubota dealer to do the repair as I originally thought either. They call the dealer and get it all set up and you just bring in the tractor.

I had grudgingly (only because my Home Owner's insurance covered the tractor), purchased it because I did the 0% finance, but I'm so glad I did. I later got it out of the agent that by "cover" it only means theft, nothing else). I'm so glad I did though, one repair paid for itself already :D, even though there is a $250 deductible.

When I signed up in the fall of '07 KTAC said that at that time they would only provide coverage during the financing term. But the guy did say they were working to get it so you could get coverage that was not tied to the loan. Sounds like they may have - however, I don't see anything on the web site to indicate it.

I have one more left on the 0% - but may be worth a call....

Thanks for the heads up NaturalEnquirer

My agent actually told me the SF rate was high because they really did not want to insure tractors:eek:
Pretty ironic for a company called State FARM:p

I financed the premium in the loan. I was told if I paid of the loan early, the insurance would end, and there would not be any pro-rated refund for the remainder of the time period.

Well at 0% no worries of paying off the loan early. But that did seem silly.

It would be nice to be able to continue it after the loan is paid off.

First and foremost, thank you NaturalEnquirer for getting this information to me and many others.

I have been looking for 2 years and was having an absolutely impossible time finding reasonable insurance to cover my tractor during transportation which I have always been concerned about. Companies that would write an Inland Marine or "Farm" insurance plan want to get the liability first then add the tractor (could be part of the CT insurance structure) which increase any yearly premium to borderline out of reach and/or rediculous when you don't already have a base liability policy with them (Home or Business). After reading many threads and doing research I've also been concerned about what those companies would actually cover when all is said and done.

I called Kubota's KTAC Insurance Agency this week and got a quote of <200 per year for my 2007 BX24 (loader and backhoe included), trailer, and MMM. Connecticut residents need not apply because of "laws" (red type and politics I figure ), Kubota's KTAC Insurance Agency does not write policies for Connecticut. Since I have a property that I can receive mail at in another state, that they do write policies for, they wrote the policy using that address :)

When asked if I can add new implements to the policy I was told they would write a new policy for any new implements. It was never stated that I could not, or that they would not, cover them...just that they would write a policy for the implement instead of adding it to my current policy. At the same time the agent added that if damage to a covered tractor was cause by an un-covered implement that the tractor would be fixed but not the implement. Although if the implement was on the policy or had it's own policy it too would be repaired.

The agent I spoke with was very very pleasent and I don't have any feeling that they would be any different if I put in a claim. Hope I never need to confirm that...:) even though I feel much better now that I have a policy with Kubota's KTAC Insurance Agency just in case I need to make the call.
