kubota vs. Kioti?

Yes that is a nice feature, my old New Holland TC33da had that feature.

That's sweet. It wasnt something I compared when shopping and didn't give it much thought until using it alot more now that I have it. I also use my rear implements now that I did before

I don't have a dog in this hunt. I'm shopping for a 40-45 hp tractor and I sure wish there was a Kioti dealer near me so I could go look at them. The nearest one is an hour away, and they look like they could fold up shop at any time. The other two are 1.5 hours or more away and I just don't feel comfortable buying a tractor with the closest dealer that far away.

94BULLITT,

Alot of valid points and I do want to comment on a few.

A). I agree, telescoping arms are pointless with a quick hitch. I hope to have one sooner than later. In the mean time they do naturally help. I would seriously love a quick hitch though. It would save alot of kicking to my lift arms.

B) I literally just had a friend leave and he commented on how quiet my tractor was. Granted it wasn't running wide open. I also don't know how other tractors sound when running at full bore

C) I use my seat swivel all the time and I forgot to mention that. It's another thing you don't know how nice it is until you don't have it. Just the little bit it turns is nice. Does any other manufacture have this? Along with tilt and arm rests? Obviously I am still driving a tractor and on rough ground you still feel bumps. However, when all is well its VERY comfortable.

D) you mentioned Harley so I have to run with this. 1) why do Harley's cost more than the competitors? I had a Harley and loved it. Some others drive motorcycles and they say "well it looks just like a Harley". Maybe Kiotis look like Kubotas :). JK. I had to go there.

A) You will love a quick hitch. I recommend a JD imatch. I think a qh should come with every tractor.

B) I know a guy that has a New Holland TC35. It is very quiet.

Bullitt "Mine was not 50K. You know what it cost me. You sent me a PM asking me when I bought it.

Alright 55,000 then. I never asked you how much you paid for it.

Being that I have no personal interest regarding the success or sales volume of either Tractor Company... I think I can take a pretty objective and open position regarding this topic. I'm going to play devils advocate and evaluate a few of your statements.

First off, "i think the whole tractor is better." I don't know how you can quantify this statement, it sounds like nothing but opinion and hyperbole.

You compare a ct235 to the l3540. That's pretty silly, they are not even in the same ballpark. The ct235 (Kioti ck35) compares more closely with the B series from Kubota.

You mention the better seat in the cab model, that reclines, swivels 15# and tilts, not to mention has arm rests. Now, I've sat in your exact same seat on Ken's tractor. its nice, definitely an upgrade over my basic suspension seat. I'm curious to know what dollar amount you would place on that specific seat. I agree that while it's a wonderful option, it has no bearing on overall quality.

You mention the external 3pt lift cylinders... in practice, I really don't see the advantage. I think it clutters up the rear a bit, it doesn't add any more lift, and I haven't noticed any other manufacturers doing this. All of that doesn't mean that I know anything about how it truly operates, but as a lay person I can't see any benefits that would justify the cost increase. Remember, we are trying to compare apples to apples... if you can explain what it does so much better than a standard 3 point lift, I'm all ears.

Finally, you suggest that it must be better, because it costs $11000 more than the Kioti. Though I'm assuming you must have been kidding when you made that statement, I might as well address it for the sake of discussion. Was the Lincoln Mark LT pickup truck any better in real life than a comparable F 150, even though it cost roughly $8 thousand more? Besides a couple interior elements and exterior pieces, is a Cadillac Escalade $12k better than a loaded up Avalanche? I'm sure we could all easily come up with a myriad examples of how this logic is flawed. Shoot, my LS is identical to the New Holland boomer 50, except that LS uses their own loader which is about 30% stronger than the New Holland version. But, my LS cost about 25% less because my stickers & decals don't say new Holland. Did i lose nearly $7000 of sticker quality?

You are thinking of the CK/ CT122. The Ck35/ CT235 are comparable to a L3800.

I was just bringing up the seat because we were comparing it to the Kioti. It is one thing that sets it apart.

Larger tractors (many brands) have external cylinders. They increase capacity and are easily serviceable.

I was not kidding about the cost. Are set of 4 for $99 set of tires going to be as good as Michelin's? I as good $50 tablet going to be as good as a Galaxy Tab?

I post the PM when I get on my computer.

You can always pick examples like that...don't really mean much. I know my LS is better than it's NH Boomer 50 brother (LS loader is much more powerful), and cost me $8,500 less than NH quoted me for the same setup.

This Qh is Cat 3.

This one looks the same as a old imatch.

By the way I was just joking about not being able to get a FEL or a 3PH on a zero turn.
I don't take the internet to heart. Both hitches are in the JD catalog and I wanted to know the difference. You know?

No.
Weird ain't it?

You were not much help then either.

*** I know... That's exactly why i said you can't compare the CT235/CK35 to the Grand L3540.

___
I was just bringing up the seat because we were comparing it to the Kioti. It is one thing that sets it apart.
***I agree that it's a nice seat, no doubt. Again, put a price on it... Does it add up to the extra $11k? Could it b added aftermarket to the Kioti? If so, at a reasonable price? Does the Kioti DK series offer a similar seat in the cab model?

___
Larger tractors (many brands) have external cylinders. They increase capacity and are easily serviceable.
*** Comparing dealer specs for 3pt lift @ 24" aft,
Kub L3940(40.5hp) =2760lbs,
Kioti DK40(41hp) = 2493lbs,
LS r4041/NH Boomer40(41hp) = 2755 lbs.

NH/LS & Kioti use the internal cylinders. The Kub beats the NH/LS by 5 lbs, and the Kioti by 267 lbs. Clearly a "win" by the Kub, but does it add up to $11k? Also, my internal cylinders require no user service. Do the external ones?

___
I was not kidding about the cost. Are set of 4 for $99 set of tires going to be as good as Michelin's? I as good $50 tablet going to be as good as a Galaxy Tab?
***Does that mean that John Deere makes a better tractor than Kubota, since their prices are higher? Like was mentioned already, does it mean that because New Holland prices their LS built tractor at nearly the same price as the comparable Kubotas, that NOW you see the quality as the same?

Look, i agree with you that Kubota makes a great tractor. But they're not the only tractor company out there making a great product. If i had the money, I'd probably own about 4 tractors, and most likely from 4 different manufacturers. I am a tractor fan, not just any specific brand.

I just don't see the actual price justification, with so many good rigs out there... The competition is really stiff.

$11k ?

No way it's worth that much more.
