kubota vs. Kioti?

I was a Kubota dealer for 23 years. Also at the same time i also sold Kioti tractors, talk about pissing off Kubota, WOW. The Kioti tractor hands down is the better choice, they usually weigh more and are more durable. As for quality, i was always doing warranty work on Kubotas, hardly ever had a warranty claim on Kioti. I am retired now and enjoying it. Way too many people buy on the name only, and not on the better product. Just my two cents here.

So you're saying that the company that sells 10 times as many SCUTs and CUTs are more likely to be at dealers getting worked on. That's kind of obvious isn't it?

I think what he's saying is that he believes that Kubota has "cheapened" their current offerings to the public over some of their previous models.

That's not what he said, at all. He only mentioned his own dealership, not the market as a whole.

As a dealer, he would have an idea of how many he sold of each, and he said he almost never had warranty claims on Kiotis, and had lots on Kubotas. Unless he sold hardly any Kiotis, that makes things pretty clear.

I wonder why Bobcat quit selling tractors:scratchchin:

If you read his prior posts, I wonder if there is much base his statement. I've sold more then just Kubota and yanmars through lines like case and cub cadet. There are differences! I don't care what brand it is but there are some tractors that are built today that are the same as they were twenty plus years ago just a different label and color. There are others that have made changes and have had positive influences on other brands. Kubota was not the first with the external hitch lift cylinders and they are a plus! We don't have to remove the rear end top covers to fix the lift or have to replace the top cover when the cylinders inside get scored. Not a happy face on a customer when you show them the price of the top cover no matter what brand it is!

My first Kubota was a L245 from the late 70s'. My newest is a L3800, 2011.

The old one I could not kill and wore out three 5' cutters and a box blade with it.

My newest one is a better built machine than the old one.

Oh and were the heck did the OP go?

I can't believe I didn't find this thread until now. The OP is my brother and I had told him to get on some tractor forums and ask around as his mechanic told him his old Case needs a fair amount of fixing up at this point. I'm glad too. Not because of any brand issues, but because even though his tractor's rear wheels must be 8' apart, it doesn't have ROPS, and as stated, he's my brother . That thing is a beast though.

We end up using my tractor on his property a fair amount and it does everything just fine on his and my property, but I've recommended that he look at larger tractors than mine since he's got 4X more property than me. If I had his property, I'd be wanting the MX or similar size in other brands.

I love my L3800, but I know Kioti makes a good machine too and have read that they offer more features for less $, so I told him to ask around. Personally, I don't think he needs a TLB at all, but that's his money and decision.

I didn't give enough thought to Kioti when I was looking. No slam on my machine. I love it and it does more than I ever dreamed, but I do wish I had extra remotes, etc. We have really good Kubota dealer. Kioti dealer is small time and that worried me a little knowing nothing about them when I bought mine, but he has been in business for a very long time selling other makes. Our NH, Mahindra and Deere dealers are not the best or friendliest and they all like their machines an awful lot. (I did too, but didn't like how much higher $ they all were).

Primary chores will be food plotting, bush hogging, trail maintenance, taking back some woods and working into new food plots, drainage work/levelling, etc., and whatever other schemes he has that he hasn't told me about yet.

I think he needs to look at something that will be heavier than mine, able to handle 6' or better PTO implements, larger BB, larger loader, etc.
