I am about to do a 400 hour service on my ZD323 (new to me).

I have a question about the transmission. How do I put the new SuperUDT2 in the transmission?

I see the dipstick and there is a black rubber piece that the manual references as a vent. The manual doesn't say where to pour it in, or maybe it does I just can't find it.

That round rubber vent is the fill hole. As long as you are talking about the black rubber cap that is about 2" in diameter.

Thank you for your reply. That's exactly what I was talking about. I will fill it from there.

I managed to get this done. I think.

I refilled it. Spilled a bit to begin with. I can't tell if it's full on the dipstick. It's really hard to see. Each time I test it I get something different. Is it ok to let it sit overnight and check it in the morning? I didn't know if it was like transmission fluid and you had to check it while it was warm. I drove around a bit and it seems fine.

Yes let it sit. If you use a rag or paper towel as a blotter you can see the level better. Warm or cold doesn't really matter. It won't make much difference in the level.

Thanks

I made a huge mess. I spilled about a gallon all over everything.

I thought it would be like changing fluid in a tractor that you just dump it in. Boy was I wrong. Had to stand over it and pour.

It quit taking it after the 2.5 gallons were added so I started it. I added some more and it read on the stick so I thought that I had enough. I took it out for a spin and checked it. There was nothing on the stick after that. I added more and parked it. Figure I will let it sit and check it in the morning.
