I just killed some kudzu on 2 acres. I used a 25 gallon tow behind sprayer that I bought at Tractor Supply. I experimented and would mix a quart of either 42% glyophosate and a quart of Brushkiller 2-4-D or use either of the above with a quart of Remedy. I found that the glycophosate and Remedy combo was the best. The weakest was using 2-4-D by itself. It takes a week to see good results. Everything is now dead with the exception of a few sprouts trying to come back. I'll give it another shot before frost and watch it close next year.

Yes, please post an after action report inb the spring, to let us know how your kill went.

Tough stuff, that kudzu.

You have Kudzu, and we in Florida have air potatoes. These potatoes are taking over. I've fought them hard all year, and now they're about to start dropping more potatoes.
I'm going to give your concoction of Glyco and Remedy to see if I can finally make a dent. I used a concentrated Roundup to little avail earlier in the summer. They turned a little yellow/brown and some actually died, but not much.
I hope you have gotten an upper hand on your Kudzu. Thanks for the post. John

Didn't someone bring Kudzu from somewhere else? I lived there for a couple years back in the early 80's and think I remember something about it. Hard to imagine me rememebering anything from then actually!

I had to spray most of it twice. One application will hurt it but not kill it back.

Kudzu was introduced to the US by Japan during a world's fair sometime back in the late 1800s. It wasn't too bad until the goverment stepped in and decided it was a great plant for soil stabilization. They cultured the stuff by the ton in nurseries and shipped it all over the south for use along highways and other projects. The rest is history and it's now classified a weed.

Same thing with Johnson grass around here. It was brought in by the railroad to control erosion along the tracks and by the levee districts to control erosion on the levees.
