The level of crankcase oil keeps increasing. I'm assuming its a problem with a the hydraulic pump seal. I have power steering so its a dual unit. I thought I had read somewhere not to try to rebuild that unit. Is there a problem in rebuilding? The parts are available. Has anyone done it and could advise me?
Thanks, Al

Most of the time the seal is pushed out due to a worn pump allowing pressure to leak up the shaft. You can try a new seal. But once the aluminum pump housing wears out. The price of rebuilding pretty much adds up to what a new pump would cost.

All new seals for both units were available....about 13 seals and metal seals. These parts about $60. vs about $400 for new pump if it's available. Has anyone tried to rebuild/reseal this unit?
Thanks
Al

Yes, I finally did rebuild the pump. Have about 3-4 hours on it and so far, no noticeable increase in crankcase volume.
Probably not enough time for a reasonable response!
Thanks
