L-39 FEL bucket hydraulic lines shield kit

So your dealer installed the shield kit for free? How did you work that one out.......

Your toolbox is metal....mine is a plastic piece of junk stuck on the side.

I pointed out that the hydraulic lines looked to vunerable when loading over the side of my dumptruck. Dealer knew I was a serious buyer. They said Kubota had built a kit to protect the lines and that they would install it free of charge upon me signing an agreement of sale.

I had no idea there was a cheaper toolbox. The metal one is the only one I knew of.

You just keep coming up with options I didn’t no exist for the L39. I’m also getting a bit PO’d at my dealer for not telling me about them when I specifically ask if there were any options available. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

On the tool box I am having a hard time telling from the photo’s how it is mounted. It looks like the box mounts to a bracket and I don’t see any existing mounting holes on the FEL supports for a bracket. With out removing your box for a photo can you describe the bracket and where it bolts or is welded to the tractor?

Sure. You're correct, the tool box mounts to an L-shaped pedestal. The pedestal is bolted to a piece of steel bar at a 90 deg angle. The steel bar has 2 holes in each end and is about 2" wider than the FEL post. Long bolts then go in the holes, past the front & back of the FEL post and into another piece of steel bar that is identical to the other first steel bar. It's just really a big clamp that holds the toolbox to the FEL post so no holes are drilled in it.

I'm Just so smart sometimes.

I had our shop build a real rugged version of the tool box holder.

Only one problem.

I mirrored the sketch and now have a nice "Step Platform" foothold when I climb up to refuel. The hydraulic lines would make getting at the box on that side tough. I will have to bribe the shop to make the bracket for the left side loader arm.

Symmetry is nice.

Thanks for the description of the tool box mount. A big clamp type of system sounds like a pretty easy thing to fabricate. I was looking at a collection of ammo cans that have accumulated over the years and thought that one of those might make a good poor man’s tool box.

No horn but the rear work lights were on the machine when I bought. The front and rear lights are pretty darn good too in my opinion.

Thanks, I know I'm just a "grasshopper" according to others, but I'll try to offer as much help as I can with my 30 yrs experience with tractors & trucks. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

If money is not at a real shortage, consider the Kubota kit. I don't think you'll pay more than $60 for it. It's totally overbuilt, as is common with Kubota. An ammo can isn't a bad idea, though!
