For the L1501 DT (L185 DT) I have the following questions:

1) I notice the hydraulic pump only pumps 3.7 gal per minute. SO, for anyone who has an FEL how well does that operate the loader. I am told that it will be real slow; is that true? OR

2) is there a way to add a second hydraulic pump to operate the FEL?

3) does the transmission, rear differential AND the 3pt hitch all share the same fluid; I can not find either a separate reservoir for the 3pt hitch & the owners/operators, service or parts manual does not mention anything about a separate reservoir for the 3pt hitch. IF they share, which do you use hydraulic fluid or 80 weight oil?

4) There is oil leaking rather profusely from my right rear axel/wheel area. It stops once the tractor is parked for a while. What do I need to replace & how much of a job is it?

Based on our readings so far for #3, it appears as if UDT or SUPER UDT is recommended for the Kubota tractors and that YES, the tranny, 3pt and rear diff all share the same fluid? Correct us if wrong!!

Is there any way to know "for sure" what is currently in there so we don't "mix" fluids!? Or will we need to just drain it all?

Thanks for all the help, we will be sure to pass on our notes and findings as we go!

1. How slow it is depends on the sie of cylinders. 1-1/2" or 1-3/4" probably wouldn't be too slow.
2.The are several possibilites.
A. replace pump with larger one
B. drive a pump off of the crankshaft
C. PTO pump
3. They all use the same fluid. I'd use Universal hydraulic/transmission fluid (= to JD303 or better). The safest is to drain & use new oil.
4.You'll have to unbolt the final drive case & disassemble the axle shaft assembly. i can supply you with a new seal, etc.

tried emailing you but did not hear back, very interested in what you can tell us about the crankshaft pumps? (what you have/can get/brackets, etc)

I see the PTO stuff for tractors, but cannot seem to find what would slide onto/fit that crankshaft on the front of the tractor?

To mount on the crankshaft, we need to know if there is room for a pump in front of the pulley, are there any holes in the pulley to mount a stub shaft & how many GPM pump do you want.
The easier option is to replace the original pump with a larger one.
Before I would change pumps , I'd see how a loader would work with the original.
