L2500 Air Intake?

   / L2500 Air Intake? #51
Thanks Mark, how's this....

I've been saving as .gif, then opening in MS-photo editor, then saving as .bmp, then opening in MS-paint to rework. Save as .bmp, reopen in photo editor and resave as .gif.

What should I do differently?

Harv,

Thanks a bunch. I got your other message and updated my profile. Appreciate you doing that, people on this forum are just to /w3tcompact/icons/cool.gif!! Looks like you couldn't sleep if the time on that message was correct! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Yes, Cliff, I haven't slept for days 'cuz I couldn't see your signature. /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Now, however, I don't see any signature at all, and your profile picture is distorted. /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif

All you have to do for a profile picture is to make sure it's exactly 65 x 75 pixels -- that will make it look right on any browser or platform.

It really is a cool picture. /w3tcompact/icons/cool.gif

Thanks Harv,

You should sleep like a baby tonight /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif! Well for some odd reason I can't get the signature to work. I have obviously missed something when I edited my profile. I'll get her here in a minute! Whoops....looks like I got it, forgot the image tags. Need to brush up on the HTML/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif!

Maybe not -- I'm headed up to spend the weekend with my 'Bota. If I had work lights I probably wouldn't sleep at all. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Harv,

I know what you mean. I put a new light on the rear of the <font color=blue>1320</font color=blue> and had to wait 'til dark before I could go push snow the other night. I think the wife is beginning to wonder about me /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif! Have fun this weekend with the 'Bota.

Just to put this one to bed (you already thought it was, didn't you? /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif), I was finally able to lay hands on my 'Bota this weekend, and I found that elusive air intake. It pretty much matched the diagram posted by John Miller III from his John Deere/w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif manual.

Even in person, I couldn't easily see it from the side the air filter opens up on, so I removed the cover from the other side of the tractor and there, lo and behold, was the fabled sucky hole (see attachment).

BTW, Bird -- it turns out that the whole air cleaner canister is in front of the radiator, as is the battery. I never paid much attention to that arrangement, but now I know. Different than yours, I gather.

All I have to do now is find a cork the right size, and I can pressure the engine. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

It was a beautiful weekend -- wish I'd brought a short-sleeved shirt (seriously), but the ground was still too damp to do any real tractorin'. About all I did was to use it to lift up my rotary cutter onto blocks so I could install the chain guards. /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif
