Well I think I might have a clutch issue with my L2500... it has only 400 hrs on it.

I moved it around this afternoon after clearing a ton of snow with the blade and loader. Yes I do alot of forward and back movements.

Well it started grinding more to get into gear so I thought I would check the freeplay at the pedal. The adjustment is maxed out.

I pulled the inspection cover. There is no grease fitting on the release bearing. The fingers on the plate are pretty straight and not at an angle. (tractor not running)

I had a helper depress the pedal and I can see everything move inside.

I can handle the repair myself as I have rebuilt many jeeps and trucks over the years.

Is there a good source of parts other than my local dealer?
I am going to price it with them but would like to save a few bucks if I can.

Is there anything else I should test or check before I open her up?

Is there any good resources for a listing of the steps to take it apart etc?

Need any special tools?

Thanks in advance!

If it will not adjust up any? I'm surprised your having clutch problems at such low hours...
I would get the disk dimensions and see if I could find a better disk... many times the clutch disk and even the pressure plate will be the same size as truck applications...

Check online and ebay, there are always a lot of Kubota clutches listed.
While you have it open don't forget to replace the pilot bearing... KennyV

Nope.. I am out of adjustment. Can not turn it out any longer or the rod will fall out of the nut.

Bummer, hate to read you are out of clutch. my L3000 has 750 hrs, and I cannot see the inspection due to loader arms and supports.Let us know what you find out, as most would like to purchase as good, if not better than original equipment parts.Breaking a tractor in half is not a barrel of laughs, but some carefully chosen supports should help. Will do. Yes it is hard to see the actual clutch for the loader arms are inthe way.

I'll let you know what I find out.

Thanks for the link. I had already found that one.

This is great to get the parts listing and pictures.

Quick update:

I have the tractor split which was really easy IMHO.

The clutch is in great shape. But I found two of the limiters on the pressure plate have been broken. I also found my release bearing to be on its way out. It has slung lots of dust around in the housing.

I think that the bearing sleave has been hangin up on the shaft and not moving forward enough to work the clutch.

Since I am going to replace all the clutch parts.
