1997 L2500DT,103 hrs,LA450S-1 FEL, AG Tires/Filled, Suburban 3 blade finish mower/rear. $11,700. Original owner and tractor appears to be in excellent condition. Post from 1/25/01 lists 99-2500 w/FEL for $11,900. Any comments or recent purchase comparisons? Thanks.

The last L2500 price thread you mentioned is a good comparison, but your example is a couple years older. This is in the range that is close to new in both price and condition. Depending on your area, you might be able to pick up a new tractor with the options of your choice for a couple thousand $ more. New tractor warranty, new everything... I'd say look at the new option, even if you will in the end decide to purchase this slightly used machine for less. Price sounds in line, but there is no harm in trying to negotiate a tad. Maybe $11,000-$11,500?

i agree 100 percent.. i bought a new l3000dt with a fel and a 6' rear blade for $15.9K

$11,700 sounds good to me!

Last September I paid $14,100 for my L2500DT w/filled R1's, LB400 loader and no implements. The tractor had 187 hours on it, but was in cherry enough condition that the dealer threw in a full warranty. The loader was added for me, brand new.

I had been looking for a good used 'Bota for months, and this one was only about $1,000 less than the local dealers' retail prices, but the warranty (and my desperation) clinched the deal. Of course, I'm in Californy, so I get to pay more for just about everything. /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif

As for what year it was made, I'm not really sure. The serial number is 60048. Can anybody out there trace the year from that number?

I'm relieved to know that there really is such a thing as an L2500. I found a 1999 with loader and 28 hrs in brand new condition. The negotiated price is $12,000. I started to get cold feet when I could'nt find any info on this model. I'm willing to overpay a little since the tractor is in such mint condition. -Walton_

The L 2500 is tuff as a hammer.
Many many nurseries, farms and contractors love them because they are so dependable and a great hp vs $$ value.
The tractor design has basically been UNCHANGED since being first introduced as the L 2300 a long time ago.
You can visit the pages on the L 2600 now and see the same basic info and specs that we had previously offer on the L 2500.
