L2501 gear static load

On the L2501 with the transmission driven PTO. I was wondering if you can hook up a static load as in a 3pt generator and engage it and leave or do you have to block up the rear tires and have them spin while it's turning the generator?

Just put the transmission in neutral, apply the parking brake and turn the PTO on.

It would be safer to leave it in neutral as ptsg suggested. You may wish to block the tires as well rather than depending just on the parking brake.
