A dealer told me yesterday that the rumor is the basic Ls will have a hydro option next year /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif They're substantially heavier and larger than the B series, yet noticeable smaller than Grand Ls. I sat on one the other day and was wishing it had a few more features as well as hydro. Not sure about the looks all that much, but it is a perfect sized machine for my long term needs. Not too big and not too small.

This tractor trading/buying sure is a real time consumer /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif One day I need this and the next day I need that. I seem to be hopelessly lost between a Grand L and a B2910.

Jim

I went through what you are doing now. I started out looking at the B7800 but realized that I needed such things as the extensible link ends so moved to the B2910. I then realized that the base price difference between that and the L3130 was small. I then took a good look at the Grand L series. While the L3130 is physically bigger than I felt I needed, the combination of the L3130 and the LA723 loader is a super tool. I now know that nothing less would handle the Hy-Reach Tree Shear. It is a matter of the linkage geometry rather than total weight but just reading the specs does not tell you that.

I am very glad that I went with the L3130 and LA723. I will get a larger rear finish mower in the future but will need something for mowing around the house itself. The L3130 also is too heavy for mowing over the septi system but that is minor.

I suggest you make your decision soon since high steel and petroleum prices are goin to continue for a while. On the other hand maybe someone might become interested in leasing my mineral rights and I could have oil income again.

I'm having trouble believing that Kubota would go to hydro on those two tractors -- they've already got the 3130. That's a little too close in size and ability to the L series to make it worthwhile to change the entire framework of the L tractors. Perhaps they'll create a "stripped down" version of the 3130? Still, I don't think I'd hold my breath! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
