Members, Im new to the Tractor market. Due to Budget constraints. Im looking for the "Most bang for the Buck" type
machine. I have approx 1500 ft of driveway to maintain. Always need to move dirt somewhere, Plus, 20+ Acres of woods, roads and trails to maintain. 1st dearler suggested the
L2800 with FEL $ 14,700 2nd dealer suggested L3400 FEL
$15,500. I will also need a Brush Slayer and box blade.
Any comments or suggestions on these machines and
implements or comparible options would be greatly appreciated. Thnks for the help!

John, I just went through the same situation. And I finally convinced myself not to under-buy. Once you buy something you always say "gee wouldn't it be nice if I bought one that was a little more powerful, or faster or nicer finishes, etc. For just $800 get the extra 6 HP. I did just two weeks ago. Love the machine but have already come across a few big rocks that I know my L3400 can't handle.

John,

I don't know where you're located, but in Texas you could get those tractors (in 4WD) with the rotary cutter and box blade for the prices you've been quoted. For example, see the Monthly Specials on this tractor dealer's web page.

I'm sure you've seen this specs comparison chart on the two tractors, but I think that 20% more HP and a Live PTO would certainly be worth the extra $800, if your budget can handle it.

Good luck with your decision. I think both tractors are good values.

Guy's ,
Thanks for the input! Have not purchased yet and only called 2 dealers. Im in Cocoa FL. I sure like the prices in Texas!
I plan on shopping for the Best Deal. Service is a issue also.
How are Kubota dealers (what you have heard) about service
/ warrenty work. If you dont buy from them? Any comments
on the Best Brush Hog.
Thanks again
John

Any dealer is required to perform warranty work on the product. But if your tractor was not purchased at the particular dealer where the work is to be done, you might have to wait a little bit for the dealer to "fit you in". Not saying this is right or wrong. That's just how it seems to go.

Do a search in the Attachments forum for "rotary cutters", "bush hogs", "brush hogs", or any other term that is used. You'll find a wealth of information. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Good luck on your search! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

John,

When you get a chance, fill out your profile (find the My Home link near the top of the screen). Responders like to see where you are and what kind of terrain you'll be working in order to fine-tune their answers. We take a very scientific approach to spending other people's money. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

What Garry said about service is what you should expect. Dealers are happy to do warranty work, right after they work on the tractors that were purchased from them.

Brush Hog is a brand name, and a good brand to consider. If you buy the implements with your tractor, you should expect a good discount on them, as well as being able to include them in the financing. Consider whatever brand your dealer recommends, then ask for our opinions. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

OOPS. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif I guess it was those capital letters that led me astray. So much for me trying to pass myself off as an expert. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
