L2800

Hi all,
I have an L2800 and when i lower the lever to engage the bush hog it doesn't engage, I think it might be an electrical problem. I checked the fuses on the little black box on the left, however i am wondering if there is another fuse box or what could possibly be the problem if it is not fuse?

There is nothing electrical on a Kubota L2800 concerning the PTO. You did not mention if your tractor is Hydrostatic transmission or Gear. If hydro you push in the clutch at low engine RPM's. and engage a small lever behind your right side, then slowly let out the clutch as your rotary cutter spins up and then increase the engine RPM to the 540 mark on the tach.. If gear drive, you push in the clutch at low engine rpm, and there is a curved large PTO lever near your right foot. You engage that lever and slowly let out the clutch as the cutter spins up, and then increase engine RPM to the 540 mark on the tach. The 3 point lift lever on the right side fender just raises and lowers the 3pt. It has nothing to do with the PTO (Power Take Off). Again, there is nothing electrical about the PTO on this model.

Thanks for taking the time to answer my question, I followed your suggestion unfortunately it didn't work. The reason why i thought to be a electrical problem is because when I live the seat it would normally shut off the engine if the PTO was engaged and now the engine will keep running if I live the seat. I would appreciate any other input

Please help me understand, apparently you have the PTO running now? but the seat engine cutoff switch is not now working? Here is how it is supposed to work, If the PTO is engaged and you leave (get up) off of the seat the engine will die in about 2 seconds, unless you pull the seat up as you get up toward the steering wheel. This maneuver will allow the engine to continue to run without anyone sitting in it. This would allow for example chipper use while the operator is off of the seat. If the engine does not die now with the seat still in the down position and no operator weight in the seat, surely then the seat switch is not working.

Thanks again James. No, my PTO doesn't run, I only mention the seat because I don't know if there is a electrical relation between the seat switch not working and the lever for the PTO since the same wire that goes to the lever goes by the seat switch.

OK lets start over to keep me straight. Is your tractor Hydrostat transmission or Gear (standard) transmission?

Where is the PTO engagement lever? Is it a little 2 inch long lever behind your right side on the fender, or is it a larger lever near the floor by the transmission "tunnel"? When you say "it doesnt work" What does that mean exactly? Can you post some photo's? of your PTO hookup.
