L3000dt hyd. for wood splitter

Ok i have been reading you guys posts for months and finally decided to join in. My question is i am going to buy a L3000dt and want to add a wood splitter. I haven't noticed or asked about where you hook in hyd. for a splitter. Do you add a hyd hookup to the rear? If so what normally does this cost? Can you buy a kit to do it?
I learned to operate a tractor on a ford 3600 and spent many hours on it.I have been wanting a tractor for ever but couldnt justify it with my wife. Prior to about two weeks ago i would have only used one for deer leases but now we are waiting to close on a 17 acre place with a great house. The guy i am buying it from says the only way to keep it mowed is with a tractor . Boy ain't it great when a plan comes togather.

It's hard to believe nobody runs a wood splitter off there tractor. northern tools has one that runs off the hyd. of the tractor. if you get a FEL can you hook into the connections for it. or can you install another set of quick disconnects at the rear?

I built a Log splitter powered by the tractor hydraulics backin the mid 80's. I tapped into the hydraulic supply block for the FEL.

Thanks kodiak. i figured you could tap in there but i also figured you could put a hyd . quick disconnect at the rear of the tractor. i want to get or build a wood splitter when i get my tractor .i am tired of using that maul. plus i figured i could split my wood on site.

I looked at a 3-pt log splitter at TSC yesterday (just looking around for discounted implements). When I picked up a PHD there a couple of the people had a lot of tractor experience so you might want to look at one there and ask some questions, you may get lucky as I did with a knowledgeable salesperson
