L3000dt owners

All right this may be a stupid question but i'm going to ask it. my tractor seems to like to vent hyd. fluid out of the little rubber vent on the filler plug. it will do it every once in a while especially when i use the fel . i noticed it likes to do it when i am running at higher rpm's. in 32 hours it's vented enough that i added a qt today.
Anybody else's do this?

I own the same type of tractor and have not experienced the amount of fluid vented as you described, even after all-day heavy FEL or mower use. You'll always get a little moisture around the vent, but at 34 hours of use since I've owned it no fluid has been needed. I always check the level and it's right in the middle of the sight glass.

You know chevdog i was thinking maybe they just overserviced the transmission and thats why it was venting. i added the qt when the sight glass had less than half showing. but i found that you have got to be on very level ground to get an accurate reading in the glass. i'll just keep watching it.

I have an l2500dt which is pretty much the same as the L3000dt, think the engine is a little smaller. I don't lose fluid like you described but if I lower the loader from a high position and do it quickly I can smell hydro fluid. I assume the return fluid comes back to the resavoir so fast it creates some turbulence. If you have too much fluid I could see where some might come out of the vent tube. Also when checking the site glass make sure all implements are in the full down position or it will read lower than actual.
