Looking at a new L3000DT 4wd with a LB402 FEL. $14,490. Dealer will add a Bush Hog 762H backhoe for $6500. Have considered a Koyker backhoe instead of Bush Hog @ $4900. Any thoughts or comments on price or quality.

If the L3000DT is anything like my L2600DT I don't see where you could go wrong. I have a M246 Bush Hog FEL on mine and a 5' box blade. Paid $12,900 out the door. I thought that was a good price.

bigmike,

You can get a B7800HSD and LA402 FEL with a Bradco 3375 4 Pt mount BH for $21000 range. Granted this does not have the same L series structure but is HSD, a more refined tractor and a nice 4 point mounting system (ala the Kubota TLB series) for 1K more..

If you have operated a gear tractor with a BH the only way to move FW or BW w/o leaving the seat is to use the BH and loader to push you around, while not the most prescribed method on an HST you can push the pedal FW or RW and move without leaving the BH seat. As I said this is not the prescribed operation but the reality of operation in the trenches so to speak.

All that said the L3000 is a great tractor, a workhorse with any attachment and any BH will perform very well, it just depends on your requirements.

While I will admit to not being the most agile guy around, I don't see how anyone could possibly sit in the backhoe seat and operate the hydro pedals. Can anybody else do that? I'm no contortionist...but even if I were, that would be one heck of a maneuver.

Possibly for units that had a single, rotating seat, but that's not the case with the backhoes I've seen on the B7800/B2910. Or, does the Bradco hoe somehow use and modify the tractor seat?

Also, for safety reasons, I always put my tractor in neutral when using the backhoe. If I need to reposition it slightly, I use the backhoe to move it.

Bigmike i bought my L3000dt in sept of last year. i have put 87 hours on it and it has worked without a problem one. i have been really surprised at what it will do. i have cut some areas with a brushhog that i really thought would have bogged it down and it just chewed it up.

I bought the tractor ,FEL ,woods bb60c,atlas boxblade and 16x16 disc's for $15080. delivered!
now my FEL isnt set up for the backhoe. i don't know how much more that was. your price probably includes remote hyd port's ? i would guess the back hoe is hyd?

good tractor for the money. no digital display! no frills ! not a yuppie tractor just a worker!
