Thanks to all!

Well the tractor is here and the blade was already on it (didn't think it would have come in yet). D.P. (et al) the Kubota dealer sold me the 84. He told me that he never sells the medium duty 72 (hbl72-2) and didn't want to get stuck with it if I decided to go with the 84 after seeing the 72. I can't see how the weight (560 lbs.) would be any problem as the 3 pt. hitch of the 3130 is rated at over 2500 lbs. 2 ft back from the lift points. For your 4330 a 6 ft. blade would not cover your tires even in the non-angled position with R4's set reasonably wide. My R4's are approx 74 inches outside to outside with the tread (wheel center to wheel center) at 57.7.

duke.

The wieght is not a problem. My 65" Box blades weighs more than that. Like you said there is plenty of lifting power back there.

Kubota specs listing the same items for the whole L series do not make sense to me either. Did the Doc writer take the easy way out and copy/paste the same spec across the board? Or like was stated is this Kubotas way out of anything questionable?

All my stuff is within Kubota listed spec's. The 6' rear blade should have been a 7 footer, no question. The 65" box blade is ok, matches the tire width barely, 72" would have been better. 72" finish mower is ok.

The only reason I don't dump the 6' blade is I now have an old snow plow truck. The blade is plenty big on that!

I do have a question for those that have an HBL72-2 or HBL84-2 on a B or grand L. How much ground clearance do you have when it's fully raised? Mine has about 14 inches max. I'll need to go down (and up) about a 16 - 20 degree slope on a fairly regular basis (when the ground firms up) and I'm wondering if the blade will get hung up at the bottom (angle of departure?) ? Any thoughts or suggestions? I will need the blade when I get down there.

Thanks.

If you have a hydraulic top link you can tilt it up. Lots of clearance then.

I never measured the ground clearance, but I do know it isn't quite as much as I would like. I don't think I even have 12" of clearance. I figured part of the problem was that I was using it on a relatively "small" (read: low to the ground) tractor. If I had a shorter top-link, I could raise it a bit higher. However, with my stock top-link fully shortened, it is fine.

Functionally, it's fine. However, if it raised a bit higher it would be easier to rest on the dollies I have for my implements.

I'm casually looking for a shorter top-link to use just with the rear blade. Hmmm...or just maybe I'll use this as an excuse to break down and get some rear remotes and a hydraulic top-link. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
