For some of my implements, the drawbar can touch the PTO when the implement is lowered very low, esp on hills and valleys, which I have a lot of...

Do most of you remove the drawbar when using various implements?

It would be nice if someone had an idea on where to stow the drawbar ON the tractor while not in use.

Any thoughts?

Mine has several holes; with one that pulls it in flush with the diff housing where nothing on the 3pt can make contact.

Mine has several holes, too, but I cant make it flush. It only goes in several inches but stops because it hits the transmission housing. Therefore, it still sticks out several inches.

I have a 2" ball on the second hole on the drawbar for my B2910 which prevents me from pushing it in so it's flush - so I always pull it before I use any PTO implement, as it will hit the shaft for the tiller or snowblower.

I only plug the drawbar in when I need it.

I do have to remove mine for roto tilling or the PTO shaft will rub the drawbar. For everything else it can stay on.

To date I have not ever removed my drawbar. The only implement I use that has a PTO shaft is my rotary cutter. I have a MMM so the MM PTO extends lower than the "normal" transmission housing so I cannot push it "in" any futher to make it near flush. I might have an issue with the PTO shaft shield hitting the drawbar if I used a PTO shield, but since I have no shield (do I hear the sirens of the safety police in the distance...) no problems yet. But I'm glad you brought it up for future consideration.

On my 3430, I have never taken it out, look at my implement list, perhaps just the implements that you are using.

The bar is not very big just pull it out and lay it in the corner of the garage/shop.

rswyan I turn my drawbar upside down when i have the 2" ball on. That keeps the drawbar with the tractor so I dont lose it.

BB,

That's a great idea - I generally have just popped it out and laid it aside wherever I am - which could be up in the field ..... I've been lucky so far, but no reason to tempt fate. Thanks for the tip.
