TY bill,
Going to my 2 mile away Kubota and 4 mile away MF to drive again since the other less expensive model was driven this morning.

Why do you say 30 miles away "would stay away from"?

I meant that 30 miles away wouldn't be a problem for me, that distance would be within reason. The dealer should help you that far out as good as the 2 to 10 mile away dealer.

30 or even a few more, depending on the type of miles....
Curvy road or straight highway makes a bit of a difference.
Especially since you are only going to put so few hrs on it a year.

Looks like a good price on the DTC...

Yes sir, thats a great price for the 300DTC and FEL...especially with the tires filled and free delivery!!

One thing though...that 5140M loader is not the one you want. You want the new 5145M loader. It has a lower profilt, is painted blue, but retains all the amazing specs! Tell your dealer you want a price on the new loader...shouldn't be but about $100.00 more and well worth it. Good luck.

/forums/images/graemlins/cool.gifThanks for the thoughts everyone.
I did a handshake deal this afternoon for the Kubota L3130. Deep down I liked this tractor best i believe from comfort and what I want to do on my land at this point.
The MF1533 was really nice as well and only have good things to say about it. The cockpit area may be even a little nicer in my opinion.
BUT>... The price for the L3130 with fel and canopy at 17200 was much better than the MF wanted to do, Im sure both camps had their reasons.
Checking financing but will probably do floating with 6 months no and 500.00 back to bring cost down to 16700.00 and pay off early.
Payments, service, reliability, resale, and dealer location put me in the Kubota camp.
About 2 miles away from large dealer.

On a side note the FarmTrac was a nice tractor as well but the money saved didn't offset the dislike I had of the loader that set well above the hood height of the 300DTC. The smaller cockpit and less ergonomically designed seat and whole platform pushed me away coupled with the distance to dealer est. 30miles. Idid like the 2 remote hydraulic valves on the rear.
For other makes Kioti and Mahindra, got voted out by just not having a dealer within 50 miles. They did have nice tractors that would have fit my applications.

Thanks again to all that replied and I'll have some photo's in the Kubota section in a few weeks. Expect to have by end of next week. This will make for a happy B-Day that's coming up this Friday. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

on a side note, this is a great site for someone trying to gain as much knowledge as possible in a short span when going to buy "A" tractor.

20acres-
I looked at Mahindra, Deere, Kubota, Farmtrac, New Holland and Massey. The Deere was about 2-3 grand more than Massey, and the mid PTO was optional, but what a nice machine. The Kubota in my size didn't have detachable bucket or mid PTO available, New Holland came in at the most expensive and out of my budget, the Mahindra was a nice machine, but I wanted to stay with one that has been around longer and didn't care for the setup of the joystick on the Woods FEL. The Massey pricing was right there, had the mid PTO, I went with a Hydro so also had PTO HP concerns so just went up from a 1528 to the 1531 and figure 33 engine HP and 24.5 PTO HP is enough for me. Plus the dealer is only a mile or less away, has been in the biz for 54 years and I got a good feel for them after many visits. Plus a couple of guys that were in there spoke highly of them and Masseys. But again, good luck, they're all nice machines. Hopefully mine will be here in another week or so! Naturally, some pics will get posted too!!

Btown,
thanks for your replys, I'm sure we will both be happy, sounds like we wen't down similiar paths. That MF was very nice and would have had no problem buying if they had worked with me. I'll be looking for your pics in a few weeks. I'll try and get mine posted when I get it as well.

Sounds like good ole service still counts for a whole lot. Its not just about the product.

That's what counts in the end.
