L3130 underpower problems Part Deux!!

Raymond I knew something had to be wrong the way you decribed your problem. Why did the dynometer not reflect a problem? And one more thing I like my seat switch because the pto will stop if I dismount the machine, I like that a lot. I hope you enjoy it a lot and feel like you will. I really think kubotas are great. teddy

Glad to hear you got it solved. Have you tried going up a hill yet? I thought Smittyd3 might be onto something with the fuel filter but I couldn't believe such a new tractor would have a clogged fuel filter so quickly. It never occured to me the tank might have debris in it. What in the world was in it? Did one of those japanese assembly workers spill rice in the tank?
One thing I did that I'm now glad of is I put the filler strainer from my L175 into the tank of the L3130. I would have to clean crud from the strainer occasionally after filling the L175 a lot and I didn't like the L3130 not having one. It fit like a glove and after using it for over a month now there are no leaks around the filler cap. After your story You may want to look into purchasing one from Kubota. On the L175 it was Kubota part #13251-4135-2. The only problem I've had with it is that sometime it sticks to the threads of the cap and gets pulled out of the tank but I just pull it off and stick it back in before I fill up.

Sounds like happy days are here again! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Glad to hear it!

I guess this disproves the alleged Kioti conspiracy theory. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
(Which was haphazardly posted in another thread concerning Ramon's 3130.)

teddydo,
I was wondering also, but this thing would work OK on flat ground!! Now I pull a bucket of rocks at 2.0 mph up the incline and it's pretty steep.

You know, we had crap in the gas tanks on our boat once. It would run great in the harbor, but as soo as we got out in the ocean and started going up and down on the waves on a rough day it would die. Took us a while to figure out the problem was that the gas would shut itself off.

Glad you had the determination to stick to it and figure it out.

Really glad to hear you have the problem fixed Ramon. It's no fun when equipment does not work as expected.

Wish I could have helped but knowledge is limited. Just for information the B7100 does not have a fuel gauge so I get the opportunity to check the fuel tank for debri on a regular basis.

Uhh -- does this mean you will not consider a swap for my B7100 /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Crud in the filter, huh?
I just had mine in to the dealer for its 50 hour before fall started. Prior to that is when I noticed it was having a hard time with the slight road grade in front of my house. I forgot to mention..., but I also could not cross my creek anymore in high range and with low rpms. I seem to remember being able to do this before when I first got the tractor.

At my 50 hour the dealer told me that there was crud in the fuel filter! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I think it's worth it to warm her up and head up the road for a little test of my own. I will post back under this thread, but I also feel the ballasted tires may have something to do with the high range struggles, even without the HST pedal fully depressed.

I'm glad you found the problem, Ramon!

No, not crud in the filter, debris in the outlet of the fuel tank blocking the diesel from getting to the filter if I understand correctly. I have 400 hours on my original fuel filter and will not be replacing it. Fuel filters get dirty primarily from dirty cans. Even the fuel stations have double filters on their pumps around here. I have done a visual on mine and it is clean as a whistle.
