L3130 underpower problems Part Deux!!

Now that its running correclty....You'll have to tell us your revised opinion after running it a while.
Mine is that its not a powerhouse but does the job well. If I had to mow in hills a lot I'd want a couple more PTO HP.

CT, I have 52 hours now, setting telephone ploes and running barb wire. Tried post hole drilling thru Hard Pan and really miss the DRAFT function.. Had to pay a BOBCAT to drill the end posts. I say at this point the tractor (won't say underpowered) is showing it is indeed light in the HP. Guess I have to wait till next year to sell to my son in law...Then I'll get something similar to a D8..

While the draft funtion is optional, it would do nothing to aid in drilling post holes. Either a hydraulic down on the PHD itself like I have or a loader mounted, hydraulic auger motor would certainly remedy this issue. Hardpan smard pan, good teeth and some weight will eat hardpan.

The 14 cylinder version might require a little shoehorning to get under the hood, but if my math is correct, the motor/tractor should be about 42lbs/HP!!! That kind of ratio should be able to make even the most power hungry tractor operators happy.

I would also suggest checking the air pressure in the tires. They will need the extra PSI.
