AND THE WINNER IS!!

The L3130 HST (4WD) with a FEL, post hole digger and box blade. Thanks for all your comments and suggestions. In the end it was simple. For the relatively small price difference the L3130 will definately do all we need now and into the immediate future. Space and footprint were not an issue. My wife (from the old farming family) could never understand why I even would consider less tractor. And lastly, the L3130 just plain felt right.

The 7800 also seems to be a great machine and if space were an issue or actual mowing was my primary concern it might have won out. I would be happy either way.

And we avoided the spiral- "gee the L3430 is just a tad more, and then well heck the L3830 isn't really THAT much more....

Re: AND THE WINNER IS!!

If everything else was equal, the L3130's loader would alone be worth the upgrade. The LA 723 has much greater capacity then the previous L series of comparable size. The L 30 series have certainly become all the better with the increased loader. Even the smaller LA 513 loader available to the L3430 and L3130 exclusively is pretty decent. You will really enjoy the very smooth HST. Down the road, consider TnT, it will immensely help any boxblade, difficult mowing etc. Have Fun, Rat...
