I've been shopping for a tractor recently and my travels have lead me to these discussions. I've compared prices with three dealers in the Louisiana/Mississippi area and have pretty much been consistently quoted a range of $17200-$17400 for a L3130HST with ag tires and a Kubota LA513 loader with quick-detach bucket. Does this seem about right or should I keep shopping?

Hammer, that definitely is in the price ballpark. Consider checking into the LA 723 loader which seems to add a very small amount to the cost. Besides having a little extra lift, it also has increased rollback and dump angles. Rat...

RAT:

Thanks for the reply. What advantage do the increased angles provide? I was curious if the increased capacity would be of benefit on a 31hp compact tractor.

The increased angles can be significant depending on what your doing. With the loader on the ground, having a rollback that is greater allows you to fill it up with more material. That may not sound like that big of a deal, but in construction work, frequently your tossing load's of junk in it by hand and its a real bonus. The ability to have greater dump angles can make a difference as well with clay material when it comes to getting it out of the bucket. There are other reasons as well, Some become more obvious when you use the loader. As far as lift ability and a 31 HP tractor, oh yeah, no problem as the HP really bears little on how much the loader can lift and move around. The LA 723 can take a 72" bucket vs 66" for the LA 513. If loader work is not going to be big on your list, the LA 513 would be fine, it's dump/rollback angles are actually very good especially since it does not have the 4 bar linkage that the LA 723 and LA 853 have. After seeing a LA 513 on a L3430 this weekend, it is a very well built loader. Rat...

I'll chime in with my two cents, I just bought last month a new L3710 with LA682 Loader, I replaced the standard bucket with a Long 4n1 72"HD bucket. It has been awesome. It is well worth the extra 1,500 bucks to upgrade to the 4n1. I also added the tooth bar, BIG difference in digging and cleaning up areas and under brush.

I paid 17,900 for the L3710 FST trans & LA682 Loader
1,500 for the Long 4n1 Bucket
262.00 for the tooth bar.

I felt pretty good about the $$$.

Hope this help /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
