I am about to begin building a cab for my L3200 and just ordered the steel tubing for the frame.

After searching for the best way to go about heating and defrosting I found a number of heaters that run the engine coolant through a box similar to the heaters found in cars and trucks. My question is where would the supply and return water lines be connected to the Kubota?

I looked under the hood and saw what may be some sort of bypass around the t-stat. It's a short hose that looks to be about 5/8" ID with a couple sharp bends in it. It would be accessible for connections. If it is a bypass, I'd think it is something that must be kept open - no valve in the line to reduce or stop flow in the event the cab warmed up too much. I suppose something could be done with a 3-way valve.

Anyway, comments will be appreciated.

That is the bypass hose... and it is a great place to plumb in your heater.
As you noted you can Not shut it off, just put the short bypass hose back during the summer and your heater hoses on during the winter... If you do not turn your heater fan you will not get much heat from it.. so you can leave it plumbed in all the time except during summer... KennyV

Thank you! That's what I was hoping to hear.

EDIT TO ADD: Ordered the heater and a wiper kit today. Ordered snow a while ago. Looks like the race is on!
