L3200 replacement tool box

Measured the stock box. It's roughly 14" wide, 5" front-to-back, and about 3" high without the lid. There is only about 1" of clearance behind it, but up to 3" in front of it.

Think I'm just going to mount a 50 cal ammo can.

The only thing I would consider is whether the mounting strut can take the leverage of anything taller or heavier than the stock toolbox. It's fairly sturdy with the stock box, but it's still a pretty small piece of steel and will flex.

My Homer box makes it twist a bit. Much bigger or heavier would pose problems I bet.

I tried one of the plastic cans and the bottom isn't strong enough and it's a little too narrow.

I'm going to use a USGI .50 Cal can painted orange. Kubota Orange seems to be the same as Ariens Orange, which means it's the same as Chevy Engine Orange, which is $5 a can.

Maybe it's just a bad picture, but when I zoom in on the box it looks like someone gave it a thin coat of paint with a brush.

They're $5 less on eBay. I'll try that if the .50 cal ammo can doesn't work out for some reason. That tool box is several inches wider so probably a more useful shape.

The box looks good, but I think their $15.50 shipping is absurd. I'd be looking for a better alternative... YMMV.
