L3400 cutter size

Just curious,

What would the max size cutter for a L3400 be?

I use a ford 951a 6ft rotoey cutter on my 3400 and do some wet marsh grass 1-2ft tall. Never had a problem.

I have a L3400HST with a 5ft woods cutter and if I were to buy again I would go with a 6ft for sure.

I'm not cutting through anything incredibly thick here but doubt it would make a difference. And I plan on always having my loader on for mowing anyway.

I have a 72" Woods finish mower and a 3400HST, no problems at all even in high range. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I've decided on a 72" RFM for mine, but, I'm still unsure weather a 60 or 72" rough mower is what I want. I may go for the 60" just to be able to tackle the larger deeper stuff on the property.

But I'll be watching and listening to anyone with input on this.

I run a 60" brush hog and a 72" Woods heavy duty finish mower. No problem at all. Plenty of power.

I think the only issue with a 72" brush hog is I'd probably need some front end weights since I don't have an FEL on my L3400HST.

I have a 60" and wish I had larger because the 60 is just wider than the track and makes it difficult to mow down fences and close to other things. With the loader off makes it easier but still slow.
