Tractor
Ferguson TO-30
Hello everyone
I'm looking at buying a new tractor, Currently I have Ferguson TO-30 and a Case 1835C Skid steer, I would like somthing that can replace both of these machines
I was looking at the L3400 it looks a great machine, but the LA463 loader looks like the only option for it, and that seems alittle weak, Can the 703 be mounted on the L3400 or do i have to get the L4400 to the stronger loader?
I was looking at the grand L series and the L3430 looks like it can have the LA723 loader mounted on it. what really is the differance between the L3400 and the L3430?
Thanks

I was told by my local dealer that this is the only loader option for the L3400....which means I won't be getting that tractor...plus the fact the dealership is a bit too "proud" of their wares...

(just take this for what it is....a newbie passing on what he was told... /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif)

Good luck
John

Differences seem to be weight (750lbs), hydraulic capacity and size. Check out the specs! Creature comforts also await you with the "Grand" L series /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif - Cup holder! Very small tool box! Silly Intellipanel! "Deluxe seat"!? Mid pto OPTIONAL!
L3400 only option 463 FEL

well that kinda bites... I dont need or want all that fancy stuff on the grand... but i guess i have to go that route...
Now i notice they have a 3130 and a 3430 why did they bother with 2 tractors that are only 3 hp apart? would someone even be able to tell the differance between the two? Looking at the spec sheets i dont really notice any differance... other than about $1500..

I am having the same dilemna. The 3400 should be an economical utility tractor that is just as capable, maybe even more so, as the 3430 but without the frills. Somehow Kubota considers the 723 loader a frill. Up until this year, the 3400 wasn't even available with HST.

This pretty much pushes you to the 3430. Then the HD bucket for the 723 loader requires that skid steer hookup that people are having trouble with. Why oh why can't Kubota put a stout bucket on a stout loader on a stout utility tractor without excessive frills and make it affordable?

Check this site for pricing and availability.

The L3400 is lightweight and doesn't appear to me to have the ability to fully use the 34hp engine unless it is with some type of PTO driven implement. My guess is the Kubota engineers have sized the loader capacity to match what the tractor itself can support. I haven't pulled my L3710 in beside the neighbor's L3400, but separately they appear to be very different and the available loader choices for the L3710 at the time I purchased my tractor maxxed out at the LA682 which is not as powerful as the LA723 available on today's L3130. The bump up to LA682 from LA482 was the primary reason I opted to go larger at the time and I'm glad I did.
