What are the suggestions as to "CHANGING" hyd oil? I have 386 hours on my newly purchased Kubota. The sight glass is crystal clear. I was going to change the filter only. OK or Bad idea? How do you gt RID of over 10 gallons of hyd oil? Years ago we used to just pour it down the dirt driveway to keep dust down....I guess that's not acceptable now....:ashamed:

I believe the manual shows a complete hyd oil change at 400, or at least mine does, so I would change the fluid. I give my used lubricants to my brother as he has a place that will take them in for recycling.

My manual says 400 hours. A lot of the oil change places will take oil, it doesnt matter if it is hydro oil. Also guys that burn waste oil for heat would love to have it.

Did not know that hydro oil could be used by the same folks that use used oil to heat their shops. That solves a big problem I thought I had for my upcoming fluid/filter(s) change. Learn something new almost everyday I come here.:)

I remember the first time I changed mine. It was a worry. But turned out fine.
I bought two five gallon pails and one two gallon jug of Hydraulic oil. I could just squeeze an empty 5 gallon bucket under the tractor and under the highest drain plug. It came to within a couple inches of the top when I removed that plug. Phew ! Then I did the other drain plugs and they were not even close to overflow.
On filling I used the 2 gallon jug first. Then refilled the 2 gallon jug from the 5 gallon pails because pouring out of the big pails would have been a problem due to the lack of room and weight. Our county recycle center takes the oil but I give it to a part time car mechanic who heats his garage with wood and used oil.

We take it to either a local service station ( they are obliged to accept used oil in Canada) or I take it to work (we are equipped for disposal). I prefer the work option, if I didn't buy the oil from them I don't like sticking them with it. I suspect my dealer would take it off my hands as well, but their business hours aren't the most conducive to regular visits.

There are lots of places that accept used oil now for recycling. Hydro oil is no problem.
Is it not weird how we all drive on oiled (paved) roads but it is an environmental disaster if you spill oil on a road.:confused2::confused2::confused2:

Yeah.. it's the same as municipalities banning the use of water softeners when they themselves dump thousands of tons of road salt on the highways every winter.
