Thanks for all the advice. Some good comments here.

I kind of agree that a 30hp tractor is a little much for 2.5 acres but I do have a lot of uses for it. And the smaller tractors looked more like oversized riding mowers to me.

Anyway I'm going to go to the dealers and try out the tractors and see what I come up with.

I've already learned a bunch from all the posts on here. Thanks again.

Well I test drove the L3400 and TC30 and I think I like the Kubota better.

It seems like an overall better made tractor and the loader looks more heavy duty. The controls felt more natural to me as far as positioning and I liked the seat. Also the engine seemed more accessible under the hood and the layout was cleaner.

I do like the ISM engine and financing deal of the NH but I think the Kubota is the better tractor for my needs. Also I got a better vibe from the Kubota dealer plus they are a lot closer than the NH guys.

The Kubota came out to $15,450 with loader and ballast which is about $500 more than the NH but I'll save about $400 on a the mower as compared to NH and the financing charges are $130 less than NH so overall it's a little better deal but financing is only for 36 months compared the (awesome) 60 month deal from NH.

Well, I appreciate your input and also the wealth of knowledge out there. Spent a lot of time reading through posts to get a feel of what to look for. I'm sure I'll be spending more time here (as well as on CountryByNet).
