L3400 PTO Cable

Mine is an 06' 2800. I have posted pics of my cable and bracket. The first is disengaged, the second is engaged. I have never had the bracket replaced. I can't see how the angle could be made any better on mine...it's pretty much a straight shot. Do I have the new bracket?

Secondly, I can't seem to get the boot pullet back to lube the cable. It is a crimped type nut on the top of the boot, so I assume I should just wrench on the bottom part of the boot to get it pulled back and it pops off?

MDM,
Move the lever to the engaged position, this will stretch out the boot. Then, you can slide the forward side of the boot towards the rear of the tractor, which will expose the cable and sleeve.

I also lubricated the bearing pin eye that is attached to the lever, it has to swivel to help align the cable and sleeve.

MDM: I cannot tell for sure trying to compare your picture to my lever but it looks like you may have less angle than mine. Marcussen can probably answer better.

The boot just pops off, no wrenching needed. It pops off the cable end. Put in the lube and then force it back onto the cable end.
