The throttle lever goes extremely hard on my L3400. Are any other L3400 owners experiencing this problem? Does anybody know of a fix?

My L3400 is the same way, but then, so is My Ford 1910.

I think you can adjust the friction nut but I have not tried it. Take a look under there. I assume they make it hard so you don't bump it or it does not vibrate to a different setting.

I guess I'm so used to the Ford throttle lever that I never even though about the L3400. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

It's always hard to quantify what "extremely hard" is from one person to another, but mine has seemed a bit stiff, too. And since I'm too lazy to try and adjust it /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif, I just live with it. I only have to use it two or three times per seat session anyway.

I agree..I wouldn't call it extremely hard, but it is quite stiff. I figure also that its this way so that it doesn't vibrate out of position or get bumped easily. Only time I ever use it is when running the PTO, otherwise I use the foot throttle. Its got me thinking though...there must be a tension adjustment of some sort on it, I'll have to check it out.

Yeah, it's a bit stiff, but if looser I expect it might not "hold" with the diesel vibration, rough terrain, etc.

The friction control is straight below the throttle lever and two 12mm wrenches will fix it right up to your taste. I adjusted mine several weeks ago, I was always bumping it too much or not enough.
