On my L2800 I removed the fanny flag and drilled two holes in the metal brace between the ROP. Drilled holes in the bottom of the tool box to fasten it.

Woodchuckie, that is pretty much the place I have been thinking about mounting somekindofa box. Possibly the ubiquitous 30 or 50 caliber ammo box, or another small tool box I have laying around here. On the Grand Series tractors the "between the fenders" brace has an integral tool box built in. I wonder how many clams Kubota would want for one of those animals?

Sorry it took so long to post this. I used 3" square u-bolts from either Ace or True Value, 1/16" rubber material I had on hand between ROPS and 3" side of u-bolts and between alum. platform and ROPS. Tool box is from Tractor Supply.

I have a 3410 and have built what I consider one of the most useful things yet for my tractor. Behind the seat there is a tiny built in tool box - you lift the lid - did not know it was even there until I started to see where I could put a tool box, but anyway, out of 1 x 8 pine, I built box which sits just behind the seat. . . you need to put a cleat on the bottom because the surface where it sits is uneven, but man is this useful. . .I keep a pair of branch cutters, extra pins, wrenches, lunch, a sweatshirt when needed and more. . . It is really very useful. . .I am not sure I know how to attach a picture but will try. . .I have also bought some orange paint but have not yet painted it. . . it lifts out easily. . . only problem I see is that you need to move the seat a bit forward for the size of box I built but that is not a problem for me. . . I also put some eye hooks on each end and can use a bungee to tie down a shovel. . .because the hydraulic hoses were near one corner , I enclosed them in a piece of heavy rubber tubing by splitting one side. . . you may also need to notch one corner to make sure access to the PTO control is easily accessible. . . absolutey the best thing you can add for carrying things . . . love it love it love it

Well, I have taken the pictures of the box I built, but for some reason computer won't let me load them into computer. I also measured it: 26" long, 8 " high and 7" deep - exterior measurements, inside would be 24 and a half long, 7 and a quarter high, and five and a half deep.

I have been unable to send a photo of the tool box I built - the site advises that the photo exceeds the 100,000 bytes. . . of something like that - can anyone suggest how I can resolve this and post the photo as attachment to e-mail. The photo is now on my desktop and I am able to attach it, just can't get the forum to accept it due to the size. . .

edit: Assuming you are using a Windows based PC, here is something.

I use irfanview to shrink my pictures for posting and e-mailing. I found out about it on another web site and have since seen others post the information here on TBN. In irfanview is a resize option, select the 640 x 480 button. Sometimes you even need to crop the picture down after resizing. Works like a champ and the price is right.
