Your ground must be a lot nicer than mine. My 5' tiller taxes my L3200 hard. There is no way I'd have been able to run it with a gear tranny. I had to inch along barely touching the HST go pedal at times. It did the job fine, but had constraints you had to cater to.L3400 will power a 6' PTO-powered Roto-tiller easily. Too light to pull a Disc Harrow effective for primary tillage.
Roto-tillers and Disc Harrows both mix soil. Go with a forward rotation Roto-tiller.
You could pull a disc with an economy L, but it would have to be small to maintain the speed you need for discing. You could disc a thousand acres too, but it would take weeks & likely a spare spine or 2. A tiller is a better option & will do a few acres a couple times easily behind an economy L (personal experience). You need a bigger machine to do more than a couple acres a couple times though.
