 My L35 has developed a leak in one of the hydraulic lines for the backhoe bucket. After disconnecting the line form the fittings, I find that I can’t get the hose through the frame by the boom cylinder connection. It is the fitting on the hose that won’t fit, I can cut the fitting off, but then how do I get the new line fed through? Any ideas? I thought about removing the pin that attached the boom cylinder to the frame, but I was unable to budge it.

There are times that they get tangled or wrapped when putting them in and as much as I hate to say this yu might have to pull all the hoses to get them out and it will also make it easier to put them back in.

Greetings,
You may try reattaching the hose and stretching the boom out as flat as you can along the ground - uncurl the bucket, extend the dipperstick straight out and lower the boom to the ground - I found that when I did this, it allowed the cylinder inside the boom to move just enough.....
I had to do that with one I replaced on my L35!
Hope that helps!

Like Vern said. I had to do that on a line with my B21. Also make note that getting that rascal through the protective sleeve, if the L35 used those, can be a challenge. :(

Vern/Mark,

When I set to work on replacing the hose, I did stretch the backhoe out as much as possible, I also tried raising the boom to see if that would create some extra room - no luck. I think I need to try Art’s suggestion of removing all the hoses and rerunning them without the twits.

I would also like to say that I stumbled across this website by accident, but I am very glad I found it. I am amazed by the number of suggestions and help that other supply to those in trouble. Hopefully, I will be able to do the same some day.

A great start would be to up date this post when you solve the hose problem. It might just save the next guy, maybe me, some trouble.

Welcome aboard,

Greetings,
Welcome tgoodart, I too like you are a newbie here and stumbled onto the forum while researching what I wanted a year or so back.
I joined a while back after I picked up my L35.

Lots of friendly, helpful folks here.

As it turns out, the solution was simple. There were a couple of plastic ties holding the hoses together. Once I removed the outer sleeve, I could see the ties, so I cut them. After that and straitening the hoses, it came right out. So I am back up and running.
