L35, L48 or something smaller?

I wrapped a chain around it, got a load of dirt in the loader for extra traction and pulled it out in low mostly so I would not start digging holes with the tires. Once out of the paddock fencing area, I pulled it close to its final destination and rolled it into place with the loader. Despite its size, the bucket curl was still able to manipulate it into place. My neighbor was quite impressed, he has a JD 790 and noted that size can make a difference. Rat...

I have operated two of the new 30 series-the dealer had 4 or 5 on the lot. I have no way to compare between the new GST and the older ones, but there was a noticible lag and lurch in up/down shifting (at least to me). I obviously don't have a bunch of hours on this trans, but frankly I was not impressed at all. I can shift with a clutch quicker and smoother. The loader operated real smooth though. JEH

On my L35 there was definitely noticeable lag between shifts,not so bad from 1st through 4th,but the jump from 4th to 5th would really lag,if you weren't familiar with it, it could get you into trouble pretty quick,especially if on a hill or transporting a heavy load.

I was curious about it Tags & John because apparently they now have electric solenoids controlling the shift versus I assume mechanical on the previous models. On non sloping areas I'm sure the lag would be fine, but on slopes it could be another story. Having HST has really spoiled me on the slopes, it really is slick despite a few drawbacks.

I had an L2900 kubota and traded it on my 35D and
the hydro is great.
I pulled a large trailer load of wood out Sunday,
the L2900 wouldn't have done it because of
needing the wide range of speed and if I stop
like it does when changing gears I'd have been
stuck.
