I am trying to decide between a L35 with a 4 way bucket, 1200 hours and a L3010 Has the forward reverse shifter with bushhog backhoe, Auger,5 foot bushhog, box balde 400 hours. Either one can be bought For $12000. My main purpse will be bushhogging 6 acres couple of times a year. Landscape work, light land clearing. Neither one will be used to full potential or more than 100 hours per year.

1. which has the easiest removal and install on the backhoe?
2 which will be the best for bushogging?
3 which will hold resale value the best?
4 any pro or cons to either tractor?

I am leaning towards the L35, from reading the forum they are bullet proof, But I have also not seen anything negative about the 3010. Please help Thanks

CHENO,

Can't speak to the L3010 and it's extras (quite a few), but I've owned an L35 for the past 3 years and am totally impressed with it's performance. As to your specific questions:

1) Removing and re-installing the backhoe is a breeze (3-5 minutes tops with a little experience).

2) The L35 will handle a 4-6 ft hog easily.

3) From what I seen all Kubotas that are reasonably cared for will hold their value. I chose the L35 because it was considered a commercial unit originally designed for rental fleets.

4) Again, can't speak for the L3010 (hopefully someone else will chime in that owns one). The backhoe is a tad jerky as is raising implements when using three point hitch. i would advise field testing those features on both units for yourself. Most of that is smoothed out somewhat with experience. Otherwise, it has done everything I've asked of it in the last 300 hrs and more.

Good luck, Diamondback

The L35 is more tractor, but the L3010 might make a better unit for your mowing needs, so it's not totally one-sided in favor of the L35.

I would be a bit concerned about an L35 with 1200 hrs that's going for $12k. You would more typically expect a unit like that to be $20k+. Why so low?

Be aware that the FEL on the L35 is not removable, so it is not quite as maneuverable for your mowing chores.

Conversely, you need to see if the backhoe on the L3010 is a 3pt or subframe type. Subframes are better.

L3010 was a neat 30hp unit that would probably be ideal for the kind of work you describe. Certainly not as rugged as the L35, but the $12k price suggests it might be in better condition than an L35 at the same price.

Check out the condition of each carefully before you decide. An L3010 in good condition is probably a better purchase than an L35 that's been through world war 3.
