You are going to love the new machine, please post pictures, and please tell us what you think about the hitch after you use it for a while. seems maybe some are worse than others. But would be happy to hear your opinion on it. Congrats on your new purchase.

Do both those tractors have the same loader? I notice that there are two loaders available, one lifts around 1100 pounds, and the other 1400 pounds, and that might tip the balance to the L3800 for me. Actually I just like the L3800 better, and probably would buy one anyway........... if I could find one with a fairly smooth 3pt. hitch. I have trails, and not roads in my woods, and I would have to widen them somehow (there are "rocks" there that would challenge an L's loader, or backhoe.) to get a Grand L on them at all in many places. I sure could have some fun with a mini excavator out there!

I'm not sure if they actually changed the loader, or if they changed the way it's rated.. measured at what point on the bucket, for example.

Word of advice - DO NOT close the deal until you've checked out the Jerky 3PH issue !! This way you have some leverage to get it fixed.

In the "all products" catalog that Kubota puts out at least the L3800 is listed with both the LA463, and the LA524. Lift capacity is taken from the pivot points at full height for both.

I have a 3700SU that I bought new last summer for 16900.00 It's been a good all aroubd tractor has about 170 hrs. the only thing I don't like is the placement of the shifter it's to close to the seat and rubs your leg been thinking about heating and bending it away Good luck :)
