I just bought a L3710 HST, 3400 hrs, I have all of the maintenance records, its been worked hard, but should now have an easier life. There is a hydraulic leak coming from the oil seal on top of the steering controller. I can press the seal in place with my fingers, so I am thinking this is too loose, but the seal is only 1 year old, as records show from the previous owner, there is no damage that I can see, its double lipped. The steering controller runs about 1K from the dealer, and I do not know if it can be rebuilt. Maybe it has too much internal pressure because of an internal seal leak. I ordered a new pivot pin and a new seal, and will try that 1st, then maybe some gasket adhesive if that does not hold. Anyone have any experience with this type of fix. Otherwise the tractor runs out great, Thanks

How to best reinstall Steering Cylinder after rebuild. Does one need to bleed the lines?

I tried to replace the seals in the steering controller, but when I installed it the steering would only go left. Tried a couple more times, same result. I ended up buying a new controller. I did not bleed the lines. Just idle the tractor in neutral for a couple of minutes after install. Worked fine.
