If you got any buddies that have a construction/grading/etc company, most of these rental places will give them a better deal on equipment rentals. If you are going to be renting long term, I'd try finding a buddy to go get better rates for you. Also with all that equipment, I'd find a buddy that does land clearing etc, and tell him what you want and hire him to do most of that and save the $$ of all the attachments you won't use often. JMHO

OK OK you guys affirmed what I was thinking and I appreicate it. As of this afternoon it's a done deal, I hope to have it by next Friday. L3400, LA463-1 FEL, WRLong Root Grapple, Linebech 556HD Box Scraper. I am looking for a chipper but the one he had a price on was $4K, not sure I can deal with that much for a chipper since it's more than half of a BH and I really want/need one and am holding out.

Congrats...I just got my l3400 today, they delivered it a day early.

No buddies really, know a few people here in passingbut that is about it. We are new to the state less than a year and have no contacts to speak of. Now the grading guy seems to be well known here and we are friendly. I may be able to drop his name if I get the OK from him at some of the rental companies.

Back home after 15 years I new a lot of people and did that with my electrical. Used a contractors name that was a buddy and I got wholesale prices on everything and even a discount since I paid cash instead of Net 30 like he would do on most of the jobs.

The Kubota dealer has started a rental program, got to get rates but he has not even rented one piece out yet. I may do that for a disker and tiller if I have no other options. This is a farming community which may be a downfall for me. In some areas I am sure I could find a farming/gardening club but over here it's a way of life and I doubt there are any clubs or meetings for someone who does it from dawn to dusk for all of his/her life.

Delivery is going to get interesting. I took all of this week off and Monday, and my boss is tight with vacation time, he likes 2 weeks minimum notice and the dealer is not open Saturday's.

I got to get the container delivered (8x40) by Thursday just in case it's early and then be there for delivery next Friday or Monday during the day. Only one place the container I feel will be safe, alongside of the road where it can be seen and in a spot where it will not get in the way of the construction equipment. I am going to need to be there for two daytime delivery's oh boy is this going to be fun with the boss.
