My three point hitch control valve appears to have went down on me today. The lever to make the three point go up and down became hard to move during a grading job. Now at the dealer for a look see. Anyone had this problem?
I had it on my L 48 and it was a simple fix at home. There is a heim joint under neath on mine at least, that lost the cotter pin holding it to another rod. The cotter worked it's way out ( hard to move lever) then finally fell off somewhere while in transit. ( no longer working) This was a 15 minute, $1.79 fix.
Well the dealer called today and said the tech had to "Adjust and lube something" on the 3 point control. He said now it works fine. I asked if they were sure the internal three point hitch control valve was okay. The dealer said yes.
This I gotta see, as the control handle and linkage for the three point is all one stamped piece that connects to a splined shaft protruding out of the right rear portion of the transmission housing. There is no linkage to adjust and lube.

I would appreciate if you could post how to get that knob handle and lever off the 3 point height adjustment, as it appears you have to pull the panel in front of the seat base as far as you can to get the pin that holds the shaft on. This does not look easy? Is there a pin that just hlds the knob on. If there is, I am really blind!
