L3940 erro 81 problem

My l3940 has under 500 hrs on it . While mowing the tractor stopped moving and I recieved and erro message 81 pedal. After it sat for an hour it worked again. The dealer took it in and checked it out and found nothing wrong. I got it back and 2 hrs later it did it again. They replaced the sending unit on the pedal. In about 2 hrs of mowing it did it again. After 4 time still not fixed.
They had it over 5 weeks this summer and still not fixed. Any ideas out there ?

Sorry, no good ideas. I also have a L3940 but have never had an error message. Since it keeps occuring I would guess it to be a short in the sending unit or the computer has brain farted and can't really tell you what the problem is. I guess the dealer is going to have to keep replacing parts until the problem stops. Have they been nice about the cost? Did you purchase the tractor new from the dealer or second hand from someone else?

Probably a loose wire in the harness.

I think you may have the answer, the ECM. They have replCED EVERY THING BUT THE COMPUTER.

Sorry, I did not tell you about dealer, They have been very good to work with and I did buy it new. I solved my problem I traded it for a new L4740 with cab.

That's one way to fix the problem. I know you said they were good to you but I hope they gave you a good deal to help make up for the loss of use this summer.
